We are excited to let you know that your suggestion has been implemented! Thank you again for collaborating directly with us to build better fundraising tech. Your suggestion was incorporated as part of this update: https://feedback.givelively.org/changelog/nonprofits-can-ask-more-custom-questions-of-donors about the ability to add custom questions to our payment forms.

Matt Connelly: This shows under review for over a year. Is this a feature that will be added? I have recently moved to a new organization and want to bring Give Lively in - this is a fantastic platform - but gift designation by program is an absolute must for us and really should be a minimum requirement feature of a robust platform like this. Can you share a timeline for implementation of this feature? Thanks!
Matt Connelly
Leigh Plott: Hi Leigh, sorry for the delayed reply!
We've been heavily working on improving our payment form's underlying infrastructure over the past few months. We are currently working on having this second-generation payment form be compatible with our existing set of features.
Soon after, more custom questions and program designations are high on our radar for new features we hope to build on this new form. We still need a few months to roll out the new form in its entirety, so I hope that offers some loose insight into when we would be able to start acting. We've begun some initial design work in the meantime. Thanks for your patience and continued support!

Matt Connelly: Happy to hear it is being worked on. I have to make a decision on systems in the next 30 days and need something for our year end giving. I hope we are able to use Give Lively. Thank you for the update.
Matt Connelly
Leigh Plott: Of course. This isn't the most graceful solution, but I know some folks have utilized the one open text field we offer in our Custom Question Beta to ask if folks would like to designate their donation to a program. Again, it's an open text field and doesn't speak to any structured picklist of programs, but it could be worth considering.

Matt Connelly: We saw and considered it but don't love this as a solution. If your designation feature comes online within 3 months we may consider but beyond we aren't sure if we can work with it/wait due to so many designation options. Thanks again.
Matt Connelly
Leigh Plott: Understood!

Along these lines, it would be great if a different campaign (for a specific program) could go to a dedicated bank account.

Matt Connelly thanks for reaching out. We have a number of different programs, and while we can and do use separate campaigns for each of them (for example: in-school programming, string orchestra, drumlines, instrument repair fund), I would love for the general donation page to be able to have a drop down with those options (in addition to gen op) or even a checkbox so that people who click donate on our site see all of those options. Right now, they have to be on each respective page to donate to those specific programs. Our donate heading goes right to our general donation form and I want to keep it that way. We can have multiple buttons on a donate page, which works, but it's an extra step for people.

hi all, also tagging Keith Moore and Caitlyn Biddle since you gave the most recent feedback on this request. We're figuring out a way to deliver this feature in the most valuable, iterative fashion. Hoping to get thoughts on the following:
Does the value in this designation option largely lie in having the ability to direct the funds to a campaign/(or a 'program' you have listed as a campaign) in Give Lively?
Is there explicit value in having just a picklist of program names you input manually, but not necessarily tied to a campaign in Give Lively?
Either way, the interface we're leaning towards is definitely along the lines of incorporating a picklist the donor can choose from on the payment form, but just wondering if we should focus tying these options to an existing GL campaign, a list of manually inputed program names, or perhaps even both.
Happy to hear all thoughts!

Matt Connelly: Could we do both? We have programs that people can donate specifically towards and specific fundraising campaigns.
N
Nick Farano
Matt Connelly: Both might get confusing. I am thinking manually entered program names
Tyrone Edward
Matt Connelly: I like both approaches because tying this feature to existing campaign pages would allow the progress bar to be updated in real-time.
Adding a feature for manual picklist would allow the flexibility of raising for generic, ongoing programs that are not one-time campaigns. I believe it would also be helpful if donors could list specific amounts for each selected program (similar to this page: https://vizionchurch.churchcenter.com/giving/to/our-bold-move-campaign-building?open-in-church-center). Thank you for listening!
Trevor DeWitt
Matt Connelly: I would also love the ability to connect these up to GAUs in the salesforce integration

Hi all, one workaround you could use for now is to add a custom question beta question. Doing so will allow you to collect text on which program the donor wants the donation to go towards (see screenshot). Feel free to message support@givelively.org or comment below if you would like us to add the custom question beta.

Nicole Alter: Would this be in addition to the custom questions we already have? I know there has been a limit in the past...
Nicole Alter
Caitlyn Biddle: It's that same custom question field. So if you have a campaign where you are not using the custom question field already, you could use it to ask which program the donation should be designated toward.

Nicole Alter: Gotcha. I've been hoping for more custom questions.

Very much need the ability to provide a drop-down for people to choose which designation to give to. Really cannot use your product exclusively until then.

In addition, this needs to be an option for the widgets! This would make our page so much simpler. Our org is complex with ~20 different areas you can donate to. We have currently had to code 20 different pages and our own drop down box below the widget. And that's no fun! www.svdpid.org/donate

We have also got feedback from donors about having the drop down on the main page.

Could a program be another campaign? (I wrote this comment under another idea but it is applicable here) We would like the ability to add a picklist on thhe evergreen primary donation page for the campaign or program the donation links to. This would allow donations from the main giving page to be directed towards specific campaigns. We'd need to then sync these to Salesforce but given the campaigns from GL sync to Salesforce, this should occur.
